Hello, my name is Andrew Bell.

I was born and raised in the picturesque county of Cumbria in the UK. I completed my bachelors degree in Spanish studies and Mathematics, not too far from my hometown, at Lancaster University, and I was very fortunate to be able spend a year abroad studying in Barcelona. When I graduated a year later, I was itching to travel again, so I moved to Mexico to teach English for two years as part of the British Council’s Language Assistant programme. What I never saw coming was how these two years would completely change my career path, as it was in Mexico when I undertook my first translation assignment. Long story short, this led me to pursue an MA in Applied Translation Studies at the University of Leeds and ultimately found Bell Johnson Translations in 2020.
